Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Forklift Engineer based in Liverpool to service and repair forklift trucks and related lifting equipment, carrying out routine maintenance and ensuring quality workmanship.

The role requires a solid mechanical engineering background, strong customer focus, and the ability to work well either in a team or independently. A valid UK driving licence is essential; ex-military candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• A good mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Customer focused.
• Ability to work as part of a team or on an individual basis where required.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repair of forklift trucks and other lifting equipment.
• Carrying out routine maintenance.
• Checking oil and fuel levels.
• Checking all related hoses and connections.
• Steering and brake checks.
• Basic electrical checks - brake lights etc.
• Liaising with customers regarding their individual requirements.
• Submit accurate parts requisition information to Head Office.
• Acting as the face of the company and therefore acting as a brand ambassador.
