Job summary

Vitae Financial Recruitment is seeking a Financial Controller for a private construction business in Greenford, fully on-site. The role reports to the Finance Director and oversees one direct report, owning the finance function and ensuring robust controls and reporting.

You will lead month-end, cash flow, taxation and budgeting, while managing the Accounts Payable function and driving ERP improvements. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with CIS/VAT/WIP experience is essential.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with construction/contracting background.
• Experience with CIS, VAT and WIP accounting essential.
• Advanced Excel and strong finance systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations and treasury reporting.
• Oversee VAT, CIS, PAYE submissions and statutory reporting.
• Support annual budgeting and investigate variances against plan.
• Develop Accounts Payable controls and finance process governance.
• Lead ERP/system improvements and automate reporting where possible.
• Oversee credit control and sales ledger activities.
