Job summary

Edwards Vacuum Eastbourne site seeks a Production Electronics Support Technician to assist the Manufacturing Engineering Team in improving zones, delivering zero accidents, defects, lead time and cost growth. Reports to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer.

You will support the Manufacturing Engineers on technical matters, maintain TPM procedures, and help resolve routing/inventory issues across zones as part of a collaborative team. On-site in Eastbourne, UK.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in engineering (electronics is advantageous). Engineering Degree is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and some knowledge of electronics design.
• The ability to read and work from electronic schematics and system diagrams is essential.
• Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing process stages and test systems.
• Competent at component level fault finding and repair is advantageous.
• Must be PC literate with experience of Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). SAP is advantageous.
• An understanding of engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
• Understanding of technical investigations, problem solving and improvements.
• Keen eye for attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Act as a second to Manufacturing Engineers on technical matters.
• Implement, improve and maintain cell manufacturing system layout.
• Update relevant zone documentation to support zero defect manufacturing.
• Coordinate the returns to/from the internal manufacturing zones and external returns from other sites/customers. Implementation of related corrective and preventative actions.
• Scheduled maintenance, programming and breakdown repair of the manufacturing equipment.
• Delivery of daily and weekly equipment maintenance procedures (TPM).
• Processing of rejected parts form the zone.
• Identify structure and routing inaccuracies and support corrections as required.
• Actively participate in the daily cell meetings and provide feedback on SQDC improvement action implementation.
• Support additional zones as required by the business.
