Job summary

Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is seeking an EHS Manager to coordinate and execute all health, safety and environmental responsibilities for the Heathrow Consumer Packaging site. The role requires leading the safety system, conducting risk assessments and driving continuous improvement in H&S performance.

You will work closely with regional and divisional leaders to implement health and safety strategies, support audits, and ensure compliance with legislation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of H&S legislation and ability to interpret it for the site.
• Proven trainer experience.
• Minimum 2–5 years in H&S specialism.
• Minimum 2 years experience with environmental management systems.
• NEBOSH Diploma or part qualified (required).
• ISO45001 and ISO14001 internal audit experience desirable.
• ISEP training or willingness to train.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules/shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute all EHS responsibilities for the Heathrow Consumer Packaging site.
• Lead site safety systems in line with ISO45004 and ISO14001.
• Plan, implement, monitor and review protective measures to minimize losses and injuries.
• Lead H&S committee meetings with the General Manager.
• Collaborate with regional and divisional leaders on H&S strategies.
• Manage risk assessments and environmental aspect assessments.
• Deliver site support and guidance with safety training events.
• Outline safe operating procedures and identify hazards.
• Ensure regular site inspections and audits are carried out.
• Lead and support internal audits and address gaps.
