Job summary

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic demolition project team in Reading. You will ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance on-site daily, with inspections, audits and incident investigations driving continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with project management and clients, lead inductions, risk assessments, and toolbox talks, while maintaining dashboards and reporting metrics to support safe, compliant project

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction Qualification or Diploma.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site health and safety inspections and audits, identifying risks and driving close-out of remedial actions.
• Monitor several projects simultaneously, managing priorities and time effectively.
• Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, making improvement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with company H&S procedures, statutory legislation and contract requirements.
• Carry out site inductions and training as required.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site teams.
• Review risk assessments and method statements for improvement and compliance.
• Lead reviewer role in gathering comments and chasing close-out with supply chain.
• Assist in the preparation of Risk and Method Statements.
• Plan and maintain records to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and contract obligations.
• Compile data and maintain dashboard reporting on H&S metrics.
