Job summary

Amey is recruiting an on-site Cleaner for HMP Birmingham. The role is full-time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on-site in Birmingham. Salary is £27,426 per year. Amey partners with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to provide safe, clean and efficient prisons.

You will perform cleaning to contract standards, manage stock, operate machinery safely, and support H&S and carbon-reduction initiatives across the site. This is a permanent on-site position in the Birmingham area.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cleaning role is preferred.
• Ability to manage stock and ordering consumables.
• Capable of operating machinery safely after training.
• Committed to high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
• Support for zero carbon initiatives where appropriate.
• Adherence to H&S standards.

Responsibilities

• Providing a cleaning service that delivers to our contractual requirements
• Controlling stock levels and ordering consumables
• Operating machinery safely and in line with the guidelines and training provided
• Ensuring a high-quality service is provided to the building users at all times ensuring customer satisfaction
• This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
• Ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
