Job summary

Amentum is seeking a site-based Buyer for the nuclear new build project at Hinkley Point C. This role requires coordinating procurement activities, liaising with internal teams and suppliers, and ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets.

The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team on a dynamic site, four days a week on site. Key responsibilities include managing site orders, expediting deliveries, and maintaining purchase orders and supplier relationships while

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of procurement concepts, principles and practices.
• Negotiating, influencing and communication skills with stakeholders.
• Computer literate and able to use procurement systems.
• Ability to operate business and procurement systems effectively.
• Construction background highly preferred but not essential.
• UK driving licence and BPSS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage site orders through the Demand Form Process with stock minimums in mind.
• Expedite deliveries, liaise with suppliers and logistics for delivery dates.
• Participate in local business outreach to increase participation.
• Receive goods via online systems and verify records with Materiel Controllers.
• Administer Purchase Orders and procurement change orders; resolve issues.
• Review supplier payment schedules and ensure prompt payments per terms.
• Track progress of all supply chain activities and expediting deliveries.
• Perform other project-related procurement duties as required.
