Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an on-call firefighter for Whitchurch Fire Station. The role involves responding to emergencies, supporting community safety, and working with a small team on a variety of incidents.

You do not need previous firefighting experience as a comprehensive training programme is provided. You must be able to reach the fire station quickly after being alerted, and you should be prepared for a physically demanding role while balancing other

Qualifications

• You don’t need previous experience as we provide a comprehensive training programme.
• Crucially, you must be able to reach the fire station quickly and safely after being alerted to an incident.
• This role is physically demanding and therefore physical fitness is of utmost importance.
• To be eligible to apply you must live within 4 minutes to the Fire Station.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies as an on-call firefighter and be ready to respond at short notice.
• Engage with the community and participate in community safety activities.
• Attend a range of incidents from fires to road traffic collisions and other emergencies.
