Job summary

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is seeking on-call firefighters who can combine their day job with emergency response duties. You must be available to respond within 5 minutes of an alerter and attend drill nights weekly at your community station.

Hours are flexible, with a minimum commitment of 31 hours per week and staged pay bands. You will train to ride appliances, maintain equipment, and progress through a development programme, with full training provided and ongoing fitness

Qualifications

• Be over 18 years old at application (minimum 17.5 prior to eligibility).
• Strong desire to support the local community and work as part of a team.
• Willing to undergo extensive training and meet fitness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend drill nights at your local station (as scheduled).
• Be available to respond within 5 minutes of alerter sounding.
• Provide cover for Fire and Rescue situations as part of ESFRS on-call system.
