Job description

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting:

We are looking for an On-Call Electrical Engineer at our client's West Yorkshire site in Knottingley

Salary is 41.298.40 per annum

This is a day position, working 40 hours per week, 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role and as such these may change from time to time to suit factory needs.

In addition, you will be required to be on call one week in four.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working within a small team, the role is responsible for the provision of an 'on-call' service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in four), covering 365 days per year.

This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation of the site and machinery.

Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English, candidates may be requested to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate these skills.

Candidates must be able to communicate confidently and effectively all levels, both written and oral, have good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure, in a hostile working environment and prioritise workloads is also essential to this role, together with excellent problem solving skills. Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however, not essential.
