Overview
Permanent OLE Operative to join the AIW/IM team at Treforest. 40 hours per week, on site. Under the direction of the OLE Team Leader, OLE manager or OLE Engineer, you will work as part of the Electrification maintenance team to undertake OLE and HV maintenance work in the safest possible manner and to the highest quality in line with standards and plans. The role is key in delivering safe and productive work on the OCS equipment, making use of access plant and lifting equipment. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on the Core Valley Lines, currently the biggest investment in public transport infrastructure in Wales, contributing to the brand-new electrified railway that forms the backbone of the South Wales Metro.
Responsibilities
- Partake in the inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal of OLE and HV assets in compliance with work plans and standards.
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans and other instructions under the direction of the team leader.
- Make use of On Track plant and lifting equipment as part of planned OLE works or OLE fault response.
- Undertake fault and incident response and asset rectification for OLE and HV distribution asset failures.
- Support the OLE Manager in the preparation of work and resource specifications, method statements and plans.
- Support the Team Planner in the preparation of Safe Work Packs and Isolation Plans.

What You'll Bring
- Experience working as part of a team to deliver planned railway OLE infrastructure works.
- Willingness and ability to work variable shift patterns including nights and weekends.
- Experience delivering a comprehensive programme of planned work in compliance with instructions, safe work plans and standards.
- Knowledge of overhead line equipment maintenance processes, systems and standards.
- A full UK driving license is essential; Class 2 HGV license is desirable.
- OLEC 2: Undertake Basic OLE Construction Activities Under Direction, or other industry equivalents (OLE 1/OLE 3).
- Personal Track Safety.
