Job description

We are seeking a passionate individual to work with older people as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and care to a caseload with diverse mental health needs. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, resourceful, and able to build strong links with clients and carers. The role involves collaboration with healthcare organizations and the voluntary sector.

Position: Band 6 Mental Health Nurse for the Specialist Older Adults' Mental Health Service (SOAMHS), based at Horsham Mental Health Team, New Park House, Horsham. The service integrates health and social care for older adults with functional and complex organic conditions requiring secondary support. Experience in community settings is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive induction and supervision will be provided. The ability to travel across Horsham, Crawley, and surrounding areas is essential.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with current registration in mental health, learning disabilities, or adult nursing
  • Completion of Mentorship Course or ENB equivalent
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and significant post-qualifying experience
  • Experience working with individuals with complex health issues in community settings
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to provide clinical interventions, conduct assessments, including risk assessments
  • Experience working collaboratively with professionals and across agencies
  • Experience within the CPA process and community-based work
