Job summary

Halliburton is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a workshop-based role in Dyce, Aberdeen. You will support rebuilds and maintenance of cementing equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation in a busy workshop environment.

The role requires ~5 years’ mechanical experience, ability to read schematics, and strong problem‑solving skills. Travel to the Aberdeen workshop from home and adherence to safety and quality standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical School certificate or equivalent in a mechanical discipline.
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a related mechanical, maintenance, or oilfield services role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the rebuild of cementing equipment in the Aberdeen workshop.
• Perform maintenance, inspection, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of Halliburton equipment including diesel engines, pumps, air compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, generators, and electrical systems.
• Install and/or replace new or reconditioned parts to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
• Conduct functional testing and verification of equipment readiness following maintenance or rebuild activities.
• Interpret and work from mechanical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Supervise and coach third‑party personnel on specific tasks when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards.
• Support equipment mobilisation, preparation, and readiness for project deployment.
