We have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Supervisor to play a key role in delivering critical OHL (Overhead Line) projects across the electricity network. You’ll be at the forefront of connecting more renewable energy to homes and businesses, supporting the UK’s climate goals and net zero targets. This role is flexible based along the M4 corridor - Reading to Bristol.

In this role, you’ll represent National Grid on-site, overseeing new build towers and refurbishment works to ensure they’re delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality. With a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards, you’ll monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation/CDM regulations and internal policies, to help drive best practices across our projects.

You’ll support the development of improvement plans, review site documentation, lead safety briefings, wellbeing campaigns, and contribute to investigations by identifying lessons learned. We offer a company vehicle, paid travel, and a supportive work/life balance culture as you help shape the future of the energy network.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual with excellent influencing and communication skills, both oral and written, who can effectively initiate change and find solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to build trust and develop cohesive teams through strong empathy, clear expectations, and fairness, while also possessing exceptional interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring positive impact and timely achievement of deadlines.

Must haves:

• OHL site or Tier 1 construction experience / a proven track record in electricity (or comparable) industry construction.
• NEBOSH General and/or Construction Certificate.
• Can demonstrate a good understanding of CDM regs and quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
• Due to the multi – site structure, an ability to travel within the UK, including overnight stays; flexibility to work at home or from a regional office as required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Pay and Benefits

• A competitive salary between £45,521 to £56,000 pa + Benefits package + Company Vehicle + Paid Travel
• 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
• The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.

• Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave – relevant to your role.
• Access to flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
• Family care benefits including a back-up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days).
• Access to apps which support health, fitness and wellbeing.
