Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment is helping to recruit an OHL Draughting Technical Lead in Derby for a key engineering role. You will lead a skilled drawing office to deliver high quality CAD outputs for overhead line and structural projects, coordinating with engineers and project managers.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in engineering CAD, leadership of technical teams, and advanced knowledge of MicroStation, Solid Edge or NX.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in engineering CAD within civil/infrastructure environments.
• Proven track record leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Strong collaboration with engineers and project managers to deliver drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of draughtspersons to deliver high-quality drawings.
• Oversee production of OHL layouts, wire clearance diagrams, and structural detailing.
• Provide CAD expertise to support tenders and feasibility discussions.
• Mentor team members and ensure delivery across multiple workstreams.
