Job summary

SSE plc is seeking an Investment & Commercial Manager to protect and grow value in major renewable energy investments with a focus on offshore wind. This permanent role offers a flexible location across the UK & Ireland and potential for Full Time or Part-Time schedules.

You will lead commercial input into contracts, model-driven decision support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimise portfolio value while ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience applying strong commercial and financial skills to complex renewables projects or investments.
• Experience working with contracts and negotiations, and understanding how terms affect value.
• Confidence with financial models and ability to interpret and improve them.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across teams and viewpoints.
• Curious, improvement-focused mindset with value-delivery experience in changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Maximise value across renewable energy investments and identify opportunities to improve revenues, reduce costs and manage risk.
• Provide clear commercial and financial insight to support investment decisions across complex projects and portfolios.
• Lead commercial input into key contracts, partnering with Procurement, Legal and Operations teams to secure balanced outcomes.
• Use and challenge financial models to test assumptions and support robust, evidence-based decisions.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to align strategy, manage uncertainty and unlock portfolio-wide benefits.
• Revenue & Compliance: ensure BM, ancillary services and REGO requirements across the portfolio, protecting revenue and minimising risk.
