Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting an Investment & Commercial Manager to protect and grow the value of major renewable energy investments, with a focus on offshore wind. You will apply commercial insight and financial analysis to support robust decision making across projects.

This role shapes how large-scale assets deliver value while backing the transition to a net zero energy system. Base location is flexible within the UK & Ireland, with preference for Glasgow and other key sites.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial and financial skills applied to complex projects or investments.
• Experience with contracts and negotiations and understanding how terms create or protect value.
• Confidence with financial models, able to interpret, question and improve them.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across teams and viewpoints.
• Curiosity with an improvement-focused mindset and delivering value in changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Maximise value across renewable energy investments and identify opportunities to improve revenues, reduce costs and manage risk.
• Provide clear commercial and financial insight to support investment decisions across complex projects and portfolios.
• Lead commercial input into key contracts, partnering with Procurement, Legal and Operations teams.
• Use and challenge financial models to test assumptions and support robust decisions.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to align strategy and unlock portfolio-wide benefits.
• Ensure revenue protection and minimise risk by complying with BM, ancillary services and REGO requirements.
