Job description

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading supplier of industrial batteries and related products. Operating within a number of industries, they are now looking to bring on experienced UPS engineers to work offshore within their Reserve Power division. With a high base salary and great overall earning potential, this would be a good opportunity for an experienced UPS Engineer looking to work offshore.

Responsibilities

  1. Working offshore, around Scotland and internationally with occasional requirements onshore
  2. Carrying out routine maintenance and breakdown response of UPS systems
  3. Testing battery systems for conductance, discharge and internal resistance
  4. Mentoring and coaching Junior/Trainee engineers whilst offshore
  5. Managing your own Health & Safety, ensuring safety equipment is used when needed and reporting accidents/near accidents
  6. Recommending preventative maintenance and asset replacement when required

Requirements

The company is ideally looking for an experienced engineer who has UPS product training and has experience of working offshore. They would consider candidates that haven’t worked offshore before provided they are comfortable doing so. You must hold a HNC level qualification or higher or be a qualified electrician. Candidates must be willing to spend long periods of time away from home both in the UK and internationally. In terms of location, you will ideally be based in Scotland due to the bulk of the work being in the area.
