Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Offshore Survey Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The primary responsibilities include mobilising, interfacing, operating, and maintaining survey and positioning systems on both company and client-operated offshore assets, as well as providing technical support for local and international projects.

The role involves working approximately 6 months offshore, with trips lasting 4-5 weeks; however, project schedules and personal leave may affect this duration. The offshore uplift is £195 per day.

This position is suitable for ex-military candidates, and applications from former service personnel are encouraged.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, test, and package equipment according to company standards and procedures.
  2. Install, integrate, and commission equipment on onshore and offshore sites.
  3. Diagnose issues with on-site equipment and generate fault reports.
  4. Perform first-line repairs to equipment.
  5. Maintain and operate all deployed assets in accordance with manufacturer and contract parameters.
  6. Track deployed assets related to the project.
  7. Maintain records of setup and maintenance activities during deployment.
  8. Store equipment safely and correctly, including all accessories.
  9. Represent the company professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
  10. Package equipment for transport after deployment, documenting and reporting any damages in advance.
  11. Complete end-of-project reports, timesheets, and expense forms promptly upon return.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. HNC, HND, or BSc in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. At least three years of offshore survey operations experience.
  3. Experience with seabed mapping, construction support, acoustic positioning, and rig positioning.
  4. Proficiency in maintaining and operating industry-standard survey equipment, including DGNSS systems, attitude sensors, telemetry systems, subsea acoustic positioning systems, MBES systems, digital video recording systems, Total Stations, and RTK DGPS systems.
  5. Knowledge of and experience with EIVA software suite (NaviPac, NaviScan), AutoCAD (preferred), Excel, and Word.
  6. Valid full driving license.
