Job description

What does the job involve?

Responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, working on a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation from a Service Operations Vessel (SOV). The role focuses on maximizing wind turbine generator (WTG) availability and energy production through remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and technical support activities. The role will predominantly be based on the SOV, but there will be instances where you will be required to join teams on WTG as required. Acting as a senior technical resource, the Offshore Senior Technician remotely monitors turbine performance, identifies equipment faults, coordinates corrective and preventative maintenance activities, and supports maintenance teams with technical expertise. The role involves preparing work packs, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), work orders, and maintenance documentation while prioritising tasks based on operational criticality and safety requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting daily operational planning, assigning maintenance activities, coordinating resources, preparing materials and spare parts, and ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and electrical safety rules. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, technical problem solving, equipment reliability enhancement, and accurate maintenance reporting. The Offshore Senior Technician is expected to mentor and support colleagues, apprentices, and developing technicians by sharing knowledge, providing technical guidance, and contributing to workforce competency development.

Strong communication, planning, troubleshooting, and organisational skills are essential to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational performance targets.

  • Participate in daily planning and prioritisation meetings to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance execution.
  • Coordinate the availability of required parts, tools, materials, equipment, and logistics to support planned and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Allocate and coordinate daily work activities for technicians, contractors, and supporting personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, faults, and equipment performance within company maintenance management systems.
  • Raise notifications and produce detailed fault reports, diagnostic assessments, corrective action recommendations, and maintenance summaries.
  • Review technical documentation and identify opportunities to improve maintenance effectiveness, equipment reliability, safety performance, and operational efficiency.
