Offshore Installation Manager – Export Cable Installation

Contract Type: 12-month renewable contract
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days

A major international renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Offshore Installation Manager to take a leading role in the export cable installation works for a flagship offshore wind project. This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most high-profile green infrastructure developments, supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy system.
Working from a central London base with opportunities for site and offshore visits, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence and project success throughout the installation phase.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimise offshore installation and logistics concepts, both in planning and execution stages
Prepare detailed technical documentation for tenders and support bid evaluation
Collaborate with package and contract managers to tender, negotiate and award installation contracts, including marine warranty scopes
Oversee offshore installation contractors, ensuring robust cross-discipline collaboration across the project team
Review and approve contractor method statements and risk assessments
Lead or facilitate HAZID/HAZOP processes related to offshore installation design and activities
Provide regular progress updates to project management, including technical risk identification and contingency planning
Supervise trial activities, tooling development, vessel mobilisation and loadout operations
Oversee the launch of offshore campaigns and monitor execution on-site
Coordinate with client representatives and quality teams to ensure daily progress reporting and issue resolution
Manage design quality assurance activities, including non-conformance reporting (NCR) and supplier quality input
Review method statements and documentation during the execution and as-built phases
Requirements
Demonstrable experience with offshore wind projects, ideally with familiarity working alongside European developers
Strong technical understanding of export cable installation, including landfall interface management
Hands-on experience with cable load-out, laying, pulling and protection systems
Skilled in managing contractor performance and maintaining project quality and safety standards
Proven ability to coordinate large-scale offshore operations and drive delivery across multiple stakeholders
