An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Offshore Embedded Wind Technician to join our Operations and Maintenance team at the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm in Mostyn, Flintshire, UK.

This role is an embedded position, where, although employed by RWE, you will be fully integrated into the Siemens Gamesa Renewables Energy (SGRE) structure and culture.

About The Role

  • Electro/Mechanical problem solving of wind turbines and associated plant, working in a team at heights up to 85m offshore, utilizing user manuals and electronic devices to trace, repair, and record issues.
  • Achieve accreditation under wind turbine safety regulations.
  • Follow the SGRE service provider roster.
  • Work according to RWE Renewables Ltd's annualized hours contract pattern.
  • Train to SGRE Maintenance Technician level or higher to lead service teams.
  • Work safely, individually or as part of a team.
  • Focus on high-quality maintenance, doing the job right the first time.
  • Promote safety leadership and the HSE culture on-site, ensuring timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Communicate WTG defects with onsite supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Accurately record hours worked using IT devices.
  • Attend mandatory training at off-site locations periodically.

Required Skills and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to work alone or in a small multidisciplinary team.
  • Exhibit good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Maintain quality standards under peak workloads.
  • Work to high standards with minimal supervision.
  • Own and pursue personal development plans, showing a willingness to learn.
  • Be an experienced Mechanical, Electrical Craftsperson, Technician, or Engineer.
  • Knowledge of the wind industry is advantageous but not necessary, as training will be provided.
  • Be naturally flexible, as operations run 24/7, including tidal restrictions.
  • Possess knowledge and experience of safety rules systems in both WTSR and HV.
  • Have experience with electronic maintenance management systems.
