The Role: Offshore Engineer
We are seeking adaptable, hands-on Offshore Engineers to support the installation and commissioning of our process equipment at client sites worldwide. This role involves extensive travel and offshore work on an ad hoc basis, so flexibility is essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation Supervision
Oversee the on-site installation of Kapwell equipment in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Coordinate activities with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Commissioning
Conduct pre-commissioning checks and system testing.
Execute commissioning protocols and ensure equipment performance meets design standards.
Diagnose and resolve startup issues, documenting corrective actions.
Technical Support & Diagnostics
Provide hands-on support during commissioning.
Conduct root cause analyses and implement practical solutions.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed installation and commissioning records.
Submit handover reports and client feedback to engineering teams.
Client Training
Train end-users on operation, maintenance, and safety.
Ensure smooth system handover and client satisfaction.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to Kapwell and client HSE policies.
Promote site safety and contribute to toolbox talks and audits.
Post-Commissioning Support
Support operations during the warranty period.
Respond to service and maintenance needs in collaboration with Kapwell’s technical team.
Strong mechanical background (e.g. automotive, diesel engines, heavy plant)
Offshore Survival Training (BOSIET or equivalent)
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Flexibility to travel on short notice
Preferred
Offshore medical certificate
Awareness training in: Quality assurance, Pressure testing, Manual handling, COSHH, Work at height, Risk assessment, H2S, Slips/trips/falls
The Ideal Candidate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven problem-solving ability and adaptability in challenging environments
Capable of building strong client relationships on-site
Willingness to travel internationally and offshore at short notice
Right to reside and work in the UK is mandatory
