Job summary

The Government of Jersey is seeking reliable cleaners to join the facilities team. You will clean offices, classrooms, kitchens, toilets and communal areas to a high standard.

Duties include vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting surfaces, cleaning windows and restocking washrooms, plus safe disposal of waste and reporting hazards. You can work alone or as part of a team, must be able to stand and lift as needed, and a basic level of English is required.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and hard-working.
• Good at following instructions and a checklist.
• Happy working alone or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working at height.
• Able to stand, walk, bend and lift for most of the shift.
• A basic level of English to follow safety instructions.
• Willing to undergo a background check (DBS).

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, classrooms, corridors, kitchens, toilets and communal areas.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors.
• Dust and wipe desks, surfaces and fixtures.
• Clean internal, external and high-level windows, doors and partitions.
• Clean and restock washrooms.
• Empty bins and sort waste and recycling.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely.
• Report damages, hazards or low stock to supervisor.
