Job summary

Paul Card Recruitment is seeking a Financial Accountant in Sunderland to take ownership of statutory accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT processes. You’ll work with a large, acquisitive group, expanding your experience through technical accounting projects and potential involvement in integration work.

Able to work independently, you’ll align with the finance leadership team and pursue a path toward senior finance responsibilities within a busy, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Demonstrated depth of financial reporting experience.
• Comfortable working independently and managing priorities.
• Experience with VAT, statutory reporting and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT processes.
• Support corporation tax processes and maintain financial controls.
• Engage in technical accounting projects (leases and evolving standards).
• Collaborate with the Financial Reporting Manager and wider finance team.
