Job Purpose

We are recruiting an Office Assistant Apprentice to add to our dedicated team based in The Calls area of Leeds City Centre. This role offers the ideal first step into the world of business and sport. The role will provide you with the opportunity to learn, develop and grow with the organisation whilst working behind the scenes in professional squash.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth-running of the Leeds office, creating an enjoyable work environment for up to 70 employees, as well as supporting those working remotely.
  • Support the HR team with administrative tasks related to recruitment, learning & development and office facilities.
  • Keep the office kitchen and meeting rooms organised, tidy and well-stocked by managing inventory and re-stocking as needed.
  • Liaise with building management for visitors, deliveries and general enquiries.
  • Support the Social Welfare Committee to plan and organise social events, cultural celebrations and team lunches, including making posters to advertise them.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee enquiries, escalating as necessary.
  • Open and close the office daily.
  • Check fire exists and first aid kits regularly, reporting any Health & Safety concerns.
  • Champion office sustainability and introduce initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

Apprenticeship responsibilities:

  • Work toward your Business Amin Level 3 Qualification, spending a minimum of 6 hours per week on apprenticeship study and work-based training.
  • All apprenticeship work and training is completed during working hours.
  • The PSA are committed to supporting you with your qualification, mentoring you throughout.

About you

This is an entry level role, perfect for someone’s first step into business administration and the world of professional sport. The following criteria would make you the ideal candidate for this role:

  • Customer service experience
  • Some experience in a professional environment such as an office
  • Organised, efficient, with the ability to use initiative
  • Good knowledge of basic Microsoft computer packages and e-mail writing experience
  • Pro-active, with a can-do attitude and ability to use initiative
  • Excellent communicator
  • Willing to learn and committed to studying an apprenticeship

Please note apprenticeship eligibility criteria:

  • Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English required for apprenticeship eligibility
  • Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
