Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Cleaning Operative to support Care & Custody at Millsike Prison. You will work 8:30am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week) at YO41 1PS, contributing to a safe, clean environment and adhering to COSHH and safety guidelines. The role involves stockroom management, routine cleaning, and reporting issues to supervisors.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to maintaining high cleaning standards within a secure establishment.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to use initiative when completing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining cleanliness in the establishment by carrying out cleaning tasks to a high standard.
• Stocking and maintaining supply rooms to ensure all areas remain fully equipped.
• Following health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines, at all times.
• Conducting disinfection and deep cleaning when required.
• Reporting any incidents, defects, or dangers to the supervisor promptly.
