Adventure of a lifetime

We are looking for an experienced Office Administrator to join our busy Chatham islands operations in mid to late May, who can commit to minimum of 12 weeks work in the office to support our fish processing site.

The Chatham Islands lie 750 km to the east of New Zealand's South Island. Moana is one of the biggest employers on the island, which is home to a small community of people, surrounded by pristine waters, that are world renowned for their rock lobster (crayfish), paua (abalone) and blue cod, that are sustainably harvested on these islands.

This is a standalone Office Administrator assignment for 3 months to support the Site Manager and team during the peak blue cod season.

  • Responsible for general administrative to support operations
  • Organisation of the office, meet and greet visitors and manage phone and requests for information from customers, fishers and/or Group Head Office
  • Assist the Site Manager and Factory Supervisor with maintaining a centralised inventory system, ensuring the accurate and timely recording, monitoring, and reporting of inventory movements, stock levels and variances.
  • Purchasing and procurement
  • Coordinate site-based tasks; repairs and maintenance, offshore visitors coming to site, trouble shoot IT issues etc.
  • Support Health & safety and compliance requirements i.e. scanning documents, updating SOPs, completing RMP tasks

No day is the same at Moana, so be prepared to be on the go, juggle multiple priorities and collaborate with a wide variety of people. As a doer, no job will be too small or big and you will be comfortable working both autonomously and in a team.

You will join a hard-working team where your support is highly valued, along with your natural ability to remain calm under pressure, troubleshoot issues and be a solution provider. Highly motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong attention to detail and a ‘can do attitude’ are essential.

What You Need:

With a reputation as a professional, who possesses a high level of integrity, and enthusiasm, you will be super organised and have a natural ability to build credible and trusted relationships at all levels.

You will be an accomplished administrator who has sound systems, numerical and analytical expertise and ideally knowledge and experience in quality assurance, compliance and inventory management systems.

You must be able to demonstrate the value you have added in roles and your ability to think on your feet and pick up and apply new skills quickly and effectively.

Ideally you will have a background in FMCG, manufacturing or supply chain. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of expertise using the Microsoft suite; Word, PowerPoint & Excel is essential.
