Metro Rod works with clients such as Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Mitie, Clarion, Axa, Wetherspoons, and many more across the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial, and Leisure sectors. Despite over 40 years in operation, we are a fast-growing and dynamic business, part of the expanding Franchise Brands group.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services, primarily reactive. Our services are delivered by over 60 franchisees across the UK. We have over thirty years of experience in drain unblocking and are proud of our reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. Major companies and high street brands trust us for their drain maintenance needs, and we aim to uphold these high standards for all clients.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, we also have Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, these brands provide a comprehensive service for water and waste management.

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join our busy office in Exeter. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced office environment, with a proactive attitude. You will liaise daily with internal and external customers and support various administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.

Role Responsibilities:

This role involves scheduling jobs for our engineers, updating customers throughout the process, and supporting daily administrative functions. Strong communication skills, proficiency with MS Excel and office equipment, and previous experience as an Office Administrator, Assistant, Secretary, or Scheduler are desirable.

The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of our office on a day-to-day basis.

What We Look For:

  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant, Personal Assistant, Office Administrator, or similar
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to cover on-call work, including manning the phone between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays and some weekends
