Looking for a role where your Sage super-powers and love of smooth-running offices actually shape the success of projects?

Exceptional opening to join a trusted client of mine, a GBP6 million-turnover Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering everything from data cabling to district heating across the capital and Home Counties as their new Office & Accounts Manager at their Orpington HQ, Monday to Friday.

(Hours flexible dependent on candidate circumstances)

The Opportunity:

You ll own the full finance cycle in Sage raising and posting all purchase and sales invoices, reconciling multi-bank accounts, and producing crisp monthly management reports that keep our GBP25k GBP2.2m projects on track.

At the same time, you ll captain day-to-day office operations for a friendly team, making sure supplies, systems, payroll and the odd project celebration all run without a hitch.

What You ll Do:

  • Control the numbers end-to-end Sage processing, bank feeds and reconciliations, supplier statement matching and VAT returns.
  • Own month-end journals, P&L, cash-flow snapshots, plus prep for year-end and external accountants.
  • Keep the office humming manage everything from stationery to subcontractor onboarding, supervise a small admin assistant and act as first point of contact for visitors and calls.
  • Support HR & payroll collate timesheets, liaise with outsourced payroll and maintain HR files.
  • Be their Sage champion train colleagues on best practice and help exploit every Sage module.

What You ll Bring:

  • Fluent Sage skills with proven bank-rec and report-generation wizardry.
  • Solid bookkeeping/management-accounts experience (construction or M&E a bonus).
  • Natural organiser who can juggle invoices, suppliers and stationery orders without breaking a sweat.
  • Confident communicator you ll liaise daily with engineers, directors and blue-chip clients.
