Are you passionate about supporting older people and making a difference within the criminal justice system? We're recruiting for a dedicated Older Prisoner Co-ordinator to join a meaningful and rewarding service based at a well-established prison in the East Midlands.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals who may have complex needs, and who wants to play a vital role in improving wellbeing, promoting dignity, and supporting resettlement.
You will coordinate purposeful activity and support for older male prisoners, ensuring their needs are met with compassion and professionalism. You'll work alongside prison staff, healthcare teams, and third-party agencies to deliver a joined-up approach to care and rehabilitation.
Planning and delivering wellbeing activities and support programmes
Working closely with internal departments and external partners
Promoting health, dignity, and positive ageing within the prison
Keeping accurate records and reporting on service outcomes
Contributing to service development and safeguarding best practice
We're looking for someone who is:
A confident communicator and relationship builder
Experienced in working with older people, or within the criminal justice, health, or social care sectors
Organised, empathetic, and motivated by positive outcomes
Comfortable with lone working and managing a busy workload
IT literate and confident maintaining records and reports
Working in a prison or secure setting
Supporting vulnerable or marginalised groups
Knowledge of safeguarding, offender support services, or voluntary sector work
