Job summary

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and operate a secure, scalable OCI platform supporting enterprise applications, scientific research and AI workloads. You will work with Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Software Engineering teams to deliver modern cloud services using Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native best practices.

Responsibilities include designing and operating OCI services, managing networking, compute, storage, IAM, DNS

Qualifications

• Hands-on OCI or another public cloud experience.
• Secure, scalable cloud infra design experience.
• Terraform / IaC proficiency.
• Cloud networking, IAM, security, backups.
• Git and CI/CD familiarity.
• Linux administration.
• Scripting in Bash/PowerShell/Python.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate and operate OCI platform services.
• Manage OCI networking, compute, storage, identity, DNS, load balancers.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Git-based CI/CD.
• Implement cloud security controls, IAM policies and network segmentation.
• Establish monitoring, backups, DR and incident response procedures.
• Manage patching, upgrades, lifecycle management and reliability.
• Support AI and research teams with reusable cloud patterns.
• Optimize OCI consumption, performance and cost with stakeholders.
• Maintain architecture documentation, standards, runbooks and procedures.
