Salary: 30,000

Location: Solihull

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (Office Based)

Join a Leading Logistics Team as an Ocean Export Operator

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Ocean Export Operator to join our international logistics team, supporting a key global account. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sea freight exports who can confidently manage shipments from origin to destination across multiple trade lanes.

While the focus will be on managing full-container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) ocean export shipments, you'll also gain exposure to cross trade movements, providing variety and global scope to your day-to-day responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Ocean Export Shipments Coordinate full end-to-end export shipments from global origins (e.g., China, Japan, Far East USA) to destinations including the UK, Australia, and South Africa.
  • Cross Trade Coordination Handle shipments where cargo moves directly between international locations without passing through the UK, ensuring compliance and smooth handling.
  • Customer & Supplier Liaison Serve as the main contact for the customer and supply chain partners. Maintain clear, timely communication with overseas agents, carriers, and customers.
  • Documentation & Compliance Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Incoterms.
  • Shipment Tracking & Issue Resolution Monitor cargo movements closely, proactively addressing any delays, documentation issues, or exceptions during transit.
  • Cost and Operational Efficiency Support cost-effective logistics planning and contribute to continuous improvements in operational processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in ocean export operations, ideally with cross trade exposure
  • Knowledge of international shipping practices, customs procedures, and Incoterms
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments concurrently
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver against tight deadlines

If you're a detail-oriented logistics professional with a passion for ocean freight and global coordination, we'd love to hear from you.
