Ocean Export Coordinator - Southampton

Our client, a multi-site Freight Forwarder in the UK and overseas, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ocean Export Coordinator to join their team in Southampton.

As an Ocean Export Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate the export of goods by sea, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery for clients. Your knowledge of export procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks are essential for the success of their freight forwarding operations.

Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time
• Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
• Annual leave: 22 days plus bank holidays

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the exportation of goods via ocean freight.
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, and clients.
• Arrange and track shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve issues or delays.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation teams for cargo handling and delivery.
• Maintain accurate data entry and records.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and updates.
• Collaborate with internal teams for seamless import/export operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Ocean Export Coordinator in freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of ocean export procedures, customs regulations, and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and MS Office.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of CDS is essential.
