We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Technician to join our male rehabilitation mental health unit. You’ll work with adults with complex mental health needs in a service that promotes recovery, independence, and positive change.

About the service

Our male rehabilitation unit provides structured, therapeutic care for adults with serious and enduring mental health conditions. The environment supports recovery, with a multidisciplinary team helping individuals build skills for the future.

About the role

You will support evidence-based interventions under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists, including group and 1:1 activities both within the unit and in the community. Your focus will be on developing daily living skills, improving wellbeing, and fostering confidence and autonomy among service users.

  • Support implementation of person-centred care plans
  • Facilitate structured sessions promoting engagement and mental wellness
  • Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with the clinical team
  • Adapt routines and environments to enhance safety and function
  • Contribute to a therapeutic, recovery-oriented setting
  • Perform relevant administrative duties
  • Participate in supervision, training, and service development
About you

Requirements:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support or equivalent
  • Experience supporting adults with mental health needs
  • Confidence in delivering structured sessions under guidance
  • Empathetic, flexible, person-centred approach
  • Good communication and organisational skills

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience in mental health rehab or inpatient settings
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery models
  • Ability to speak Welsh
