Job description

We are seeking a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor. The post holder will be a member of the wider Occupational Therapy (OT) team and will contribute to the provision of occupational therapy services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage own workload independently under the supervision of a registered OT as a member of the MDT.
  2. Use technical, creative, and psychosocial skills to assist in providing therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of service users.
  3. Lead the development of service user projects.
  4. Communicate effectively with service users and carers.
  5. Provide feedback on therapeutic activities to supervisors, OT colleagues, and MDT.
  6. Ensure activities focus on social inclusion and skills development.
  7. Undertake additional delegated responsibilities as directed by the OT supervisor.
  8. Facilitate/co-facilitate planned group and individual activities under supervision.
  9. Contribute to formal OT assessments and support service users in achieving their goals.
  10. Engage in ongoing assessment and modify interventions based on service user needs.
  11. Develop and implement socially inclusive projects under supervision.
  12. Support the smooth running of the service through delegated tasks.
