Job summary

The Occupational Therapy Support Worker role at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board supports the OT team by delivering patient-centered therapeutic care and carrying out delegated treatment plans across hospital, home, and community settings.

You will assist with all modalities of therapy, participate in audits and project work, manage stock and supplies, and contribute to timely, safe, and effective patient care within a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and time management are essential.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced healthcare environment would be advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise, stay flexible and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support OT staff by assisting with all modalities of therapeutic care.
• Provide care to patients as delegated by OTs, within your competencies.
• Participate in project work, audits and provision of statistics for patient care or the OT department.
• Monitor stocks of equipment and ensure supplies are ordered.
• Promote independence, health, safety and wellbeing in hospital, home or community settings.
• Develop a patient-centred approach to engaging patients in specific therapeutic interventions as directed by the Therapist.
