Summer Student Placement – Occupational Therapy

Band 2

6 – 8 week summer post

(July - September – dates negotiable)

Plus £1,349 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

37 hours per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Student Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team over the summer months. You would play a fundamental part in supporting people to regain confidence and independence in the things that matter to them.

This is not a formal student placement but would be suitable for an Occupational Therapy student who wishes to gain additional experience working in the Occupational Therapy department at Western Isles Hospital and supporting with administrative roles.

The Western Isles Hospital is situated in Stornoway on the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, offering excellent communication links with the Scottish mainland and a wide range of cultural and outdoor leisure activities.

We offer the support of a professional and well-established team of Occupational Therapy staff working across the Western Isles.

Applications from students in their 2nd or 3rd year of study will be considered.

The hours will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 16:30. All summer student placements are paid at Band 2 and are for a fixed term period.
