Job Description:

An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional hospital setting based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. You will be working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

This hospital provides specialist inpatient services for adults and older males with severe and enduring mental health conditions, including undiagnosed memory-related illnesses. The facility also offers neuro-cognitive and dementia care for males with agitation or aggressive behavior.

Requirements:
Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work across rehabilitation and recovery wards with support from two OTAs.
  • Conduct assessments and interventions, both 1-to-1 and group work.
  • Support patients' engagement in therapeutic programs alongside psychology and nursing colleagues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to identify occupational needs.
  • Monitor patient wellbeing, report unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences, and document appropriately.
  • Update clinical records and information systems accurately and promptly.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience in inpatient mental health services or similar roles.
  • Experience managing or supervising junior staff (desirable).
  • Understanding of mental health issues.
  • Ability to handle challenges effectively.
  • Appreciation of meaningful occupations' value.
  • Compassion, enthusiasm, creativity, and proactivity.

Salary & Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a salary of £34,000 per annum. This is a full-time permanent role, working 37.5 hours weekly. Benefits include:
