Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to lead the OT service for respiratory and medical patients. You will work with the Medical Team Lead OT to deliver patient-centred care and influence service delivery across directorates.

You will provide expert clinical support, manage complex caseloads, advance evidence-based practice, and lead workforce development to build a competent OT team. A 7-day roster is required.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with respiratory care experience.
• Ability to provide assessment, treatment, advice and evaluation for complex cases.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and staff development.
• Willingness to participate in a 7-day roster and holiday cover.

About the role:

As aBand 7 Clinical Specialist, you will take a lead in shaping the Occupational Therapy service for respiratory and medical patients. You will also work hand-in-hand with the Medical Team Lead OT to ensure patients within the Medical and Older Persons directorate receive excellent, patient-centred services.

• To provide expert clinical support and advise, alongside the OT Team Leader, linking closely with multi-professional colleagues.


• To hold a clinical caseload, providing excellent, high-quality person-centred clinical management, including patients who have complex acute and chronic presentations, determining the functional deficits and OT treatment within an acute setting.


• To strive to provide a service fit for today and the future, considering and inputting into the latest evidence-based practice, developing personal leadership to support clinical and service growth and staff development.


• The post holder will be the Clinical Specialist to support and facilitate Occupational Therapy Service with key roles in the development of a competent, knowledgeable workforce, equipping them to provide high-quality person-centred care.


• The successful candidate will be expected to provide assessment, treatment, advice, evaluation and clinical management at an advanced level for patients who have complex, acute and chronic presentations.


• Participation in a 7-day working roster and bank holiday cover.
