Occupational Therapy Assistant for Acute Rehabilitation

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Buckinghamshire Community Hospital - Waterside ward at Amersham Hospital as an Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Worker supporting the Therapy team in implementing acute rehabilitation. The post will suit an independent, motivated, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who wishes to work as part of a dynamic, personalized care therapy team.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake therapy treatments and interventions on the Waterside ward and sometimes in a patient's own home, as identified by the Therapists, to help patients progress towards discharge home or to an alternative residence. Previous experience working in therapy and treating patients within hospital or community environments with falls, orthopaedic, medical, or neurological conditions is necessary.

Education, Qualifications
  • Level 3 GCSE or equivalent in English
  • Good educational standard (at least 3 GCSE subjects)
  • NVQ Level III in Healthcare
  • Manual Handling or First Aid qualification
Experience
  • Experience in customer care (face-to-face environment)
  • Previous healthcare experience working with patients with neurological impairments
  • Experience in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for liaising with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers, ensuring accurate, legal, and legible records

Salary: £24,625 to £25,674 per annum, pro-rata.
