Job Role

Are you passionate about care and seeking a new challenge? Do you have experience in care, mental, or physical health settings? Are you interested in developing new skills in Occupational Therapy? We are seeking enthusiastic, organized, and reliable individuals to join our Occupational Therapy team. You will deliver assessments and treatment services to our customers, covering physical, learning, and mental health disabilities.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing appropriate assessments and support to customers and carers, via telephone, in clinics, or at customers’ homes.
  • Arranging effective therapy interventions within your scope to help individuals achieve control over their lives.
  • Providing information, advice, signposting, and resolving queries to support the Therapy and Equipment Service.

This role is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.

Who Are We Looking For?

Coventry City Council seeks an enthusiastic, organized, and reliable team member to work within Therapy Team Services. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, managing your workload effectively. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential. You will work with experienced Occupational Therapists in the community to support people in living independently.

Skills required include:

  • Effective communication (in person, written, and over the phone)
  • Conducting assessments in homes or clinics to identify strengths and safety needs
  • Providing instruction to enable maximum independence
  • Working independently and collaboratively
  • Organizing and prioritizing workload
  • Building effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and agencies
  • Maintaining accurate case records
