Cygnet Sheffield is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Mental Health Child and Adolescents services. The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, based at 83 East Bank Road, with a salary of £28,826.70 per year.

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, located on East Bank Road - is a purpose-built, therapeutic environment close to the city centre of Sheffield with a focus on supporting individuals to move along their care pathway towards independent living. Everyone has access to a range of social, therapeutic and activity spaces including classrooms, art rooms and gyms, teaching kitchens and gardens. It is a spacious and vibrant service providing positive and effective care with close links to local colleges and employers.
Griffin Ward (15 bed) and Unicorn Ward (10 bed) are our intensive support services for young people who require inpatient care within a robust, therapeutic setting. The services deliver tailored treatment packages in a safe, age-appropriate environment to reduce the risk of harm to self and others by improving their mental health. Each ward has their own Occupational Therapist, with whom you will work closely with, spending your week evenly across both services.
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
Starting a new job can be daunting, which is why we have a robust induction process that enables you to shadow staff, discuss your learning and receive expert support to develop into your role. We offer an Occupational Therapy Assistant preceptorship programme in your first12 months to support and consolidate core skills. We also offer regular, virtual Q&A sessions with our clinical lead OT and networking with other OT Assistants and Activity Coordinators in your service line.
