Job summary

Active Care Group in Roehampton, London, is offering an Occupational Therapy Assistant role at Holybourne Hospital, a Mental Health service for adults. The new post contributes to a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with opportunities to collaborate across wards and with the hospital therapy team.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting patients to develop domestic and self-care skills, run therapeutic groups, accompany social outings, and document notes under

  • Work with patients across the hospital to enable them to develop domestic, self-care, social or leisure skills under the guidance and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Attend and contribute to meetings and clinical discussions as appropriate
  • Plan and facilitate specific therapeutic groups under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Accompany patients on social and therapeutic outings as requested, in line with the Mental Health Act
  • Plan and organise specific technical programmes, e.g. cooking, with minimal supervision from a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Assist in selected recreational and social programmes for individuals and groups as guided by a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Write electronic clinical notes under minimal supervision from the Occupational Therapist

We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.**We have a fantastic opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our caring and supportive team at Holybourne Hospital in Roehampton, an Adult Mental Health service for people of all genders with severe and complex mental health conditions.Across four wards we support people over the age of 18 who may be admitted to us informally or may be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007). We can also admit patients who require detoxification from alcohol or drugs or patients who are under a revoked Community Treatment Order (CTO).The hospital has an Art Therapy room, ADL Kitchen, Gym, Multi Faith Room, there are 3 garden areas and on-site parking. We also have a service user expert who works with us on a weekly basis supporting patients in the service and involving them in service reviews and development.The new post is mainly based on a new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) due to open at Holybourne Hospital in late September.
