We have opportunities for an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Kneesworth House Hospital. The service offers therapeutic activities tailored to each individual to support, maintain, or develop skills for recovery & wellbeing.
Under supervision from an Occupational Therapist, you will be involved in assessments, treatment planning, and implementing therapeutic activities based on service users' interests, strengths, and skills. Activities may include 1:1 or group sessions on ward, off ward, within Occupational Therapy resource areas, or in the community.
The service also provides hospital-wide activities such as the Hospital Shop, Library, Café, and vocational sessions like Animal Care, Horticulture, DIY, and Work Opportunities.
Your role involves engaging service users creatively, adapting activities to individual needs, demonstrating compassion, flexibility, and resilience. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and computer literacy are essential. Ability to work as part of a team and independently is required.
Activities may include cooking, laundry, reading timetables, exploring leisure activities like art, music, gardening, sports, and supporting attendance at vocational roles.
Priory offers training, CPD, and career development opportunities, including Occupational Therapy Apprenticeships. Experience in healthcare is desirable.
