Job summary

Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge in Bilston is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the OT team in assessment, treatment and development of residents under supervision. The role requires 40 hours per week at the Bilston site and is aimed at individuals with a commitment to patient-centred care.

You will work with the MDT to deliver therapeutic activities for men with complex needs in a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service, with a robust induction programme to develop

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS and reference checks are required before employment.
• Plan and implement therapeutic activities under supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist.
• Work with the in-house MDT to support individuals throughout their journey.

Service Line: Mental Health Adults – High dependency inpatient rehabilitation service

Summary Of The Site

Cygnet Sedgley House and Cygnet Sedgley Lodge offer a 34 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men with complex needs. The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity. You will need a willingness to learn new skills and the passion to work with patients with complex needs.

Main duties of the job

The Occupational Therapy Assistant role involves planning and implementing therapeutic activities appropriate to the needs, choices and interests of individuals in our care, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will also be working with the in-house MDT which is designed to support the individual in our care throughout their journey with us.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 160 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Development & Induction

We offer an Occupational Therapy Assistant development programme in your first 12 months to support and consolidate core skills.
