Job Title: Occupational Therapist - West CAMHS

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide a range of services including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

Shift pattern: To be confirmed.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist interested in working with young people (up to 18 years) with mental health and neurodevelopmental issues. The role is based in West CAMHS, West Centre, where you will deliver Occupational Therapy services within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience in mental health or paediatrics is desirable but not essential; a strong desire to work in this area is key. The role aims to extend an already established and respected Occupational Therapy service.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team assessing young people with mental health and co-morbid neurodevelopmental issues.
  • Provide individual and group interventions (e.g., SPARKS, RTA, Creative).
  • Support student placement programs.

Support and Development

You will receive an induction, access to CPD opportunities, regular supervision, and support for reflective practice and evidence-based interventions. Band 5 peer supervision sessions are also available.

Candidate Profile

Whether you are seeking a lateral move or your first Occupational Therapy role, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with children, young people, and families. Candidates must be HCPC registered and have relevant transferable experience.

Interviews will be held in person on Friday, 23rd May 2025, at the West Centre, 60 Kinfauns Drive, Drumchapel, Glasgow G15 7TS.
