Job description

Our client has a superb Occupational Therapist Permanent vacancy in one of their Schools, to provide specialist Occupational therapist services to children 3-18 yrs attending the school.

Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire
Salary: up to £40,000 D.O.E
Hours: Term time only
Client Group: Working in schools with learners with profound learning difficulties. (School Experience)
Car Driver

Travelling is required between the school in Buckinghamshire during term time and the clinic in Surrey in holidays.
Children attending the school are a neurodiverse group with severe, profound and complex disabilities.

Job Role:
* The therapist will be involved in assessment
* Report writing
* Formulation of appropriate intervention plans for children referred by school
* Will work holistically with families and multi- disciplinary therapy team to ensure child centred care.
* You will be supported in your role by a multi- disciplinary therapy assistant
* To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a clinical workload
* To undertake assessments of children, using both standardised and non-standardised assessments reports.
* To demonstrate clinical reasoning and the ability to interpret assessments data and write clinical assessments reports
* To devise child /family centred treatment plans through use of goal attainment scaling, considering a wide range of treatment techniques and grading activities to ensure that the individuals full potential is developed or maintained
* To conduct 1:1 and small group treatment sessions in school.
* To provide a high level of clinical keeping
* Provide an effective high-quality service to all children and families
* To communicate effectively with the multi - disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk.

Client Requirement:
* Recognised Diploma /Degree in Occupational Therapist
* Health Professional Council - Licence to Practice
* Evidence of successful completion of a range of other short courses at post graduate level
* Evidence of Attendance at other specialist course relevant to paediatrics
* Clinical experience of wide range of paediatric work in clinical or education settings
* Co-ordination of intervention planning in paediatrics
* Clinical experience of working with children with a wide range of needs including Autistic spectrum disorders, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorders and neurological disorders.
