Our Learning Disability and Autism Service is dedicated to providing person-centred services that empower adults with learning disabilities and/or autism in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). We strive to enable the individuals we support to live fulfilling lives, with choice, control, and the opportunity to reach their full potential as valued members of their community.
We are excited to offer a Band 7 Occupational Therapist role within our Complex Health Needs Service (CHNS), a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of specialist healthcare professionals. In this role, you will provide assessment, therapeutic interventions, and support for adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs, and autism, while contributing to innovative, evidence-based initiatives that enhance quality of life and wellbeing.
This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week which involves regular community visits from your base location in Carrswood Day Services, Bath. Core hours for the service are 06:00 to 20:00, with typical working hours being Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. You will work flexibly between your home and the office base, ensuring the best support for the individuals you serve.

You will feel valued as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist within our Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodivergence (LDAN) Complex Health Need Service based at Carrswood Day Services, Twerton, Bath, receiving access to exclusive rewards and benefits including:
Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from an RCOT or WFOT-approved training establishment, with current HCPC registration.
Experience: Clinical experience in learning disabilities and additional complex needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and mental health conditions.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Proven experience of working within an MDT, contributing to team decision-making, and collaborating effectively.
Specialist Knowledge: Interest or experience in areas such as dementia, sensory integration, autism, and learning disabilities, with evidence of relevant training.
Communication Skills: Experience working with families and carers, maintaining effective communication in challenging situations, and keeping accurate and legible client notes in line with standards.
Professional Development: Evidence of a CPD portfolio and the ability to identify and address own learning needs through reflective practice and supervision.
