Job summary

Total Assist Recruitment is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a clinical role with a focus on end-of-life care. You will conduct holistic assessments, address patients’ needs, collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams, and apply HCPC standards in daily practice.

Responsibilities include communication with diverse stakeholders, symptom assessment, and ensuring person-centred care that respects individual beliefs and cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate awareness of own professional role and boundaries, acting in accordance with HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
  • Communicate effectively with a range of people on a range of matters in a form appropriate to them.
  • Listen actively to individuals, their families and friends about end-of-life concerns and provide information and support.
  • Assess symptoms using appropriate tools, history taking and clinical examination; know when to refer concerns to specialist colleagues.
  • Conduct a person-centred holistic assessment including background information, personal strengths, aspirations and priorities, beliefs, culture and lifestyle factors.
  • Assess current physical health and prognosis including underlying health conditions.
  • Consider social, occupational, psychological and emotional and spiritual factors.
